Frequently asked questions
Q: How old do I have to be to get a tattoo (with or without parental consent)?
A: Strictly 18+ - it is the law. If you are lucky enough to look 18 or under please bring photographic ID with you.
Q: Can I bring my friends/partner/parents for my appointment?
A: You can bring one person with you, but it is not always guaranteed that they will be able to sit with you in the tattoo area. The studio is not very large, so there is not always room. Also, if you do bring somebody, they must behave quietly & non-disruptively as it can be very distracting for the tattoo artist.
Q: This will be my 1st tattoo/I have not had a tattoo in a long time. Any advice?
A: Always make sure that you have had something to eat before your appointment. You don't necessarily have to have a large meal, but make sure you do not come in on an empty stomach.
Most people will prefer to bring a cold sugary drink with them & perhaps some sweets or a chocolate bar, just to keep sugar levels high.
It is generally best to not tell everybody that you are having a tattoo. They will wind you up. You will be way more nervous than to start off with.
If it is your first tattoo and you feel nervous about it, we will be able to do a line without any ink, so that you know what it feels like first. Then if you decide it is too painful you can always change your mind.
Q: How long can I book in for?
A: Usually the maximum we recommend is for 6 hours, but we can do up to 8 hours at a time. In general people tend to prefer 3-4 hour sessions for larger pieces.
Q: Can I take blood thinning medication on the day of my tattoo?
A. If you have been prescribed blood thinning medication, you can still take it as recommended by your doctor. We ask that you please inform the tattooist at the time so that they are aware of this.
Q: Can i drink alcohol the day of my tattoo?
A: It is strongly advised that you don't. If you appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol the tattooist will not tattoo you.
Q: Does it hurt?
A: Yes! But it is not unbearable. You can do it.
